Ian Reid

Ian Reid (GSB MBA ’93) – Member: GSB Advisory Board & Immediate Past Chair: GSB Alumni Board

“Imagine that for the cost of 2 coffees and 2 muffins per month – you could change someone’s life… And you could, for just R100 per month!

I attended the GSB in 1993. The GSB experience fundamentally changed my life and I believe that as alumni we MUST make this wonderful experience available to those that are able and willing, but cannot afford it.

The concept of the R100-a-month project was raised at our Alumni board and we ALL wanted to make that difference. Our objective is to assist in getting those who cannot afford to study at the GSB to engage and thrive for our country. To change a life. This project will allow me – AND YOU – to change that life. I believe that together, our R100 per month is building South Africa’s future.

I ask you to please join me in this quest, to allow the future leaders of our country to get a world-class education at the GSB. As this initiative grows, we will change many more lives, and enable them to be the best that they can be, and create their own futures – all for that R100 per month.”

About the quest

Launched in celebration of the GSB’s 50th anniversary in 2016, the R100-a-month quest will be run annually by the GSB Alumni Board. It aims to persuade as many alumni as possible to contribute R100 per month to a scholarship fund.

Proceeds from this fund will be awarded annually to deserving GSB students. An amount determined by the Alumni Board will be capitalised annually into the R100-a-month fund within the GSB Endowment.

Donations to the GSB Foundation are tax deductible for South African taxpayers. Donors from other countries could also be eligible for tax benefits, see <ahref=”http://www.gsbfoundation.org.za/legal/”>here for details.
