The potential economic and financial impact of COVID-19 is likely to be dramatic and far-reaching, however, to date, there has been little consideration of the broader economic implications of this crisis.
We’d like to invite you to join us for a free webinar with Barry Standish on Wednesday, 15 April that will delve more deeply into this important topic.
Barry will take us through his unique analysis of the situation, arguing that the economic impact of the pandemic cannot be seen in isolation from both short trends in local and international economies and existing structural weaknesses in international economies.
The webinar will position the rise of the pandemic in the context of the 2019 economic landscape and will compare the key features of this crisis to those of other recent economic crises. The discussion will close by considering the economic implications of potential policy options.
Barry is director and partner of the consulting company StratEcon, a specialised economics consultancy with economic modelling as the core competency. He is also is visiting Professor of Economics at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands and was formally a senior economist at the UCT Graduate School of Business.
