Mervyn Christoffels, champion Epic Scholarship with his entry in this year’s Cape Epic race, says that yesterday’s Prologue stage started early which meant cooler riding conditions. However, it is extremely dry which meant very loose surfaces and plenty of riders falling…including the legendary Joel Stransky who is now out of the race. Today the actual Epic begins and “it is going to require discipline [to] ride within our limits” says Mervyn. Follow Team GSB Foundation’s progress here.
